Our main mission is to provide hospitality to NATO vessels visiting our home ports of Barcelona and Tarragona.  We not only serve the men and women in the naval forces of the United States, but  also of the 25 other members within the NATO organization.

The NLUS Barcelona Council is a valuable resource for information to facilitate a safe and enjoyable shoreleave of the staff and crew.
US Navy visits Barcelona......

The Barcelona Council of NLUS had the honor of welcoming two US Navy vessels visiting our home port.

On November 17th, Council President Victor Horcasitas and Board member Salvador Molist boarded the
USS Carney to meet with Captain Glenn Kuffel and present him with our customary welcome gift - a pictorial of our town and local gastronomic treats.  Later that afternoon, the Barcelona Council sponsored a tour of vessel for 45 persons. The following evening, we hosted a dinner for Captain Glenn Kuffel and his senior staff at long-time NLUS Life Member Tony Da Grecoīs restaurant. With 24 Navy Leaguers and friends in attendance, it was an evening of rest and relaxation for the crew of the destroyer, DDG-64

On December 6th, Board member Pepe Garcia-Reyes and NLUS supporter Dan Salon boarded the
USS Arleigh Burke, DDG-51, to meet with the Captain and welcome the vessel.

        On January 10th, the
USS Porter docked at Barcelona and enjoyed shoreleave until January 14th.
